Welcome to Barbara Riedel’s website!
I’ve been working as a translator and interpreter since 2008. I did a Master’s degree in Translation (Conference Interpreting and Legal Translations) and specialized afterwards in tourism and culture.
You can find more information regarding my work as a language expert on my website The Travelling Translator.
On my German blog Barbaralicious I am writing about my life as a digital nomad. That means that I work location independent and online. In 2014 I heard for the first time of this movement. I knew from the very first moment that I wanted to live this lifestyle.
Additionally I am writing as a co-author for on of Germany’s biggest travelblogs Travelicia.
In September 2015 I published my first book. In Meine Weltreise – Ein Traum wird wahr I wrote about the emotional side of travelling alone on my trip around the world where I travelled 13 countries on four continents in eight months.
In November of the same year I published a guide for Low Budget Travelling named Reisen fürs schmale Portemonnaie.
The translation into English is soon to come.
Inspired by the movement LOVE YOUR TRANSLATOR I launched the sticker bombing campaign LOVE YOUR DIGITAL NOMAD, or simply LYDN. My goal is to raise awareness of digital nomadism and inform people of our existence and the variety of our professions.
THE ZUMBA® INSTRUCTOR
In 2012 I did my license to become a Zumba® Fitness Instructor. From that moment on I worked as a Zumba® Instructor until I started my life as a digital nomad. In the meantime I did more licenses (Aqua Zumba®, Zumba® Step, Zumba® Gold, Zumba® Toning) and qualifications (Zumba® Fitness B2, Zumba® ProSkills).
THE WORLD IS A BOOK.
WHO DOESN’T TRAVEL

I am a half German half Italian travel blogger and translator. I always loved travelling and writing. So my blog Barbaralicious that I launched in 2014 was the perfect possibility to combine my passions. In November 2014 I started a trip around the world which was the first step into my new life – the life of a digital nomad. That means that I can work location independet from everywhere on this beautiful planet because I don’t need anything else than my MacBook and WIFI. Since then I am travelling and working at the same time. I am mostly in South or Central America. I like being Latinamerica because for me as an interpreter and translator for Spanish there are no language barriers there. Nevertheless I enjoy spending time in other parts of the world as well.
